• Question: Do you think that the “Wow! Frequency”, picked up using The Big Ear in Ohio, was that of an “alien species”? What is the significance of the frequency of the “Wow! Frequency” matching very closely with the hydrogen line?

The significance of it matching the hydrogen line comes from the fact that this frequency is banned from terrestial use because astrophysicists spend a lot of time scanning for it for various reasons and they don’t want interference from Earth based signals.

This fact, as well as other evidence, does suggest this signal came from space and not Earth. As the only a single frequency was picked up all known natural sources can be ruled out.

Therefore the signal is either from an as yet unknown astronomical phenomenon or artifical in origin. In either case, why have we not detected a repeat? Until we do, it is impossible to say what caused the signal.

However, I personally like to think it was aliens, only because I believe we can’t be alone in the universe.
