      Almost everything in the known universe is spinning and it’s generally in the same direction (anti-clockwise I believe but I’d have to look that one up). This stems entirely from how the earth was formed – the Big Bang formed swirling clouds of gasses and particles that have been brought together under gravity. Everything spins the same way because this is how it started spinning and there are no forces to stop it or make it spin the other way.
