Venus is the hottest planet despite only being second closest to the sun – it has a really thick layer of Carbon Dioxide that works as a blanket trapping heat. Carbon dioxide contributes 80% of the greenhouse gases emitted on earth and it is emissions of this that are a main factor in climate change which is why earth is slowly heating up!
