Since different diseases arise by different malfunctions in the body it would be impossible to create one pill to cure all ills. Such a pill would have to contain drugs for each individual disease and would expose a patient to unneeded side effects.

A single technology may emerge as the method to cure all disease though for example small molecule drugs vs biological drugs vs genetic technologies.

Medicine is constantly developing so it is likely that we will develop cures for a lot of diseases – however diseases are evolving too.
Malfunctions in the body cause new diseases and old ones develop resistance to treatements. This means that no matter what science does to treat the current disease profile, there will always be a necessity for further research and new treatements – hence why it is so important to inspire young people to consider a career in research!

There won’t be one pill that cures all diseases as each disease affect a different pathway! We have made great progress with a large number of drugs and therapies but there will always be something to research! There is plenty for the next generation of scientists!
