All the sciences and maths. Ther are a few medical specific exams you also have to sit before you can apply for a place at university but I am not sure what they are about. Get lots of experience even if it is just shadowing someone. That will set you apart from the other applicants.

To become a medical doctor you need a medical degree, or MD.

You can be come a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in any subject – it is the highest academic degree. I hold a PhD in Chemistry, which I got following 3 years of research after I completed my undergraduated degree.

So I am a “Doctor” but more like Dr. Ross Gellar from Friends than your GP!! 🙂

Well that depends entirely on what sort of doctor you want to be! I’m doing a PhD in chemistry (like David) and that means I’m gonna be a doctor – just without the actual medical degree!!
But as Zoe said, if it’s medicine you want to do then all the sciences and maths is the way to go. Some university’s don’t ask for physics but it’s getting more common to ask for all of them.
