Well currently I’m working in a lab with 10 other people. I’m funded by medical companies to come up with more environmentally friendly or cheaper ways of synthesising drug molecules. This can potentially have a massive impact on the availability of drugs, particularly in less economically developed countries.
While day to day what I work on is relatively small and it is hard to see the bigger impact, it is a heartwarming feeling to know what the greater goal is.
