I am quite happy to credit the people who have made scientific discoveries before me. However, I have always wondered what it would be like to study science before we really gained understanding of the air around us and what each element was and how to isolate them.

Antibiotics have saved millions of lives including my own. I’d have liked to have been there for that discovery.

It’s probably a bit cheesy but I’d love to have discovered one of the elements on the periodic table. So many of them are named after people (particularly the later ones) and to have your name imortalised on a periodic table that people use everyday would be quite exciting.

Other than that, to be part of the human genome project would have been pretty cool – the project was the first to map the human genome and has really advanced our knowledge of how the human body works.
