      Dreams are your brain trying to entertain itself while you’re asleep.

      I don’t know why but an inability to dream is a serious neurological disorder. I think dreaming allows us to process complicated events and emotions – this is where the expression “sleep on it” and “everything looks better in the morning” comes from.

      Interesting question. I was once told our dreams are the outworking of our mind thinking about aspects of life we may not consciencely be thinking about. I know it happens when we are going into or coming out of a deep sleep. That’s why we always wake up at the best bit!
