The sun’s rays hit the Earth’s atmosphere and most of this light passes through unhindered. However, some of this light is scattered by particulates in the air that we can’t see with our eyes. The blue wavelength of this light is affected more than the other wavelengths of light (red and green), causing the sky to appear blue.
