• Question: Would it be possible to synthesize a drug that allows DNA to be replicated perfectly for longer, to stop conditions like cancer and possibly extend the human life span?

There is research in this area looking at proctecting and repairing the teleomeres of our chromosomes. Teleomeres are long sequences of tandem repeats and the end of our chromosomes. Each time a cell divides, the teleomer gets shrotened a little. Eventually it runs out and we start to delete portions of encoding DNA – this is believed to be a cause of ageing.

However, not all cells divide. Brain cells in particular do not, so we need to work on keeping both our brains and body “young”
